    • "Lloyd Rich Jr.: Dec. 15, 1924-Jan. 19, 1995
           Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lloyd Rich Jr., 70, will be held today at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken McKenzie and Dr. John S. Bacot Sr. officiating.
           Interment will be in Oak City Cemetery with Lane Rich, Ben Lee, Sam Howell, Ramsay Simmons III, Chuck Lynn and Mike Conger serving as pallbearers.
           Mr. Rich died at his residence Thursday, Jan. 19 after a lengthy illness.  He had lived his entire life in Bainbridge.
           As a young man he was an active Boy Scout and advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout.  Following his graduation from Bainbridge High School in 1940, he attended The Citadel as a member of the "Class of 1944."  After a tour of duty in Egypt during World War II he joined the family business of R. L. Rich Chevrolet Co., later becoming the dealer, a position he held until the sale of the business in 1984.
           During the years he was a member of the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Jaycess, Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, Bainbridge Country Club, and Hasan Temple of the Shrine.  He was a founder and co-president of the first Committee of 100.  For 41 years he served as a member of the board of directors of the Citizens Bank and Trust Company, which later became First State Bank and Trust Company, serving as chairman of the board of directors for 10 years and as president for seven years.
           Mr. Rich was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bainbridge, where he served as a deacon and elder.
           His most recent affiliation was with the Charter House Morning Breakfast Group, where he was a regular member.
           Survivors include his wife, Juliette Lane Rich; two daughters,
      Judy Rich Simpson of Tifton and Sue Rich Smith of Dunwoody; two sons, Robert L. Rich III of Bainbridge and Joseph E. Rich of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, Juliette Simpson Causey of Macon, Elena Simpson of Tifton, Jessica Rich and Robert L. Rich IV, both of Bainbridge, Ashly Smith and Adam Smith of Dunwoody and Hunter Rich of Atlanta; and two sisters, C. Frances Rich Rich of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Olive R. Partee of Stone Mountain; and one brother, Jack G. Rich of Tallahassee, Fla.

    • Bainbridge - R. Lloyd Rich Jr. of Bainbridge, former owner of the R.L. Rich Chevrolet Co. and retired president of First State Bank and Trust Co., died Thursday at home. He was 70.          A wedding of much social interest to the friends of both parties throughout the State, occurred in Thomasville on last Thursday night, when Miss Cecil Harrell was married to Mr. Lloyd Rich.  This was a runaway marriage, the couple being motored to Thomasville by a friend.  Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for various points in Georgia for a several days honeymoon trip.
         The bride is the beautiful and attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Harrell, who was one of the most popular young ladies in the younger society set in Bainbridge, groom is prominent in social and business circles and is connected with Rich Auto Supply Co.
         The Post-Search Light joins in with the friends of this couple in wishing them much happiness in their future life's career."
