      In the Name of God Amen I Jeremiah Rich of the County of Wake and State of North Carolina being Weak in Body but of Perfect sound Mind and Memory and calling to mind that it is appointed for all Men once to Die do make and Ordain this to be my last Will & Testament in the follwoing manner and form Viz.--

      Item I give and Bequeath to my Son John Rich Ten Pounds Specie to him and his Heirs forever.

      Item I give and Bequeath to my Son William Rich Ten Pounds Specie to him and his Heirs forever.

      Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Susannah Bridges wife of James Bridges Ten Pounds Specie to her and her Heirs forever.

      Item I give and Bequeath to my Son Jacob Rich Ten Pounds Specie to him and his Heirs forever.

      Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Judy Dodd Wife of William Dodd Ten Pounds Specie to her and her Heirs forever.

      Item I give and Bequeath to my daughter Charity Rich Ten Pounds Specie to her and her Heirs forever. I lend to my beloved Wife Mary all my Lands, Negroes, Horses, Cattle, Hoggs, Sheep, Geese, and all my Household furniture with all my Tools of all kinds in dureing her Widowhood and at her Marriage or Death all that I now lend to my beloved wife I give Bequeath to my Son Charles Rich to him and his Heirs forever and if he Should die before he has an Heir what I give to him to be equally divided between them that is living.

      And I do hereby Appoint Brother Timothy Rich and my Son Charles Rich my whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revokeing all other Wills and Testaments by me made hereby Confirming this to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Jeremiah Rich have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this fourth day of October 1781.

    • In the name of God. Amen. I, Charles Reach, of the State of Alabama and Bibb County, being in health and due strength and exercise of mind, being sensible of the fraility of man and that it is also appointed once for man to die and feeling its necessary to set my house in order and to settle by my last will and testament, determinably and unchangeably, all my affairs relative to the present life, I therefore first of all give my immortal soul to God who gave it me, and mortal body to the dust from whence it came, to be decently interred at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named.

      Secondly, as to the portion of good with which God has been pleased to bless me in this world, I wish to dispose of it in the following manner, viz:

      To my daughter Patsey, who married Howell Campbell, and her heirs, one feather bed and furniture which I have already delivered to them, and ten dollars, when collected of the legal sales of my estate by my executors.

      To Thomas Spicer, who married my daughter Frances Reach, I give one feather bed and furniture at thirty dollars and one bedstead at two dollars, four earthern plates at fifty cents, one Pewter Bason at one dollar, and one hundred and fifty dollars which I give him in the price of a Negro Boy which he bought of me named Alexander, all of which goods and money I have truly and faithfully put into his possession.

      To Archibald Smith, who married my two daughters (viz), Susannah and Sally Reach, I give and bequeath feather bed and furniture at thirty dollars, two Pewter Plates and a Bason at one dollar 93 3/4 cts., one cow and calf at eleven dollars, and one horse at fifty dollars.

      To my daughter Susannah and heirs, also to my daughter Sally, who has since married said A. Smith, one feather bed and furniture at thirty dollars, one cow and calf at ten dollars, one note when given forty-five dollars, and credit by three dollars, all of which property I have truly and faithfully put into his possession except the note, which I direct my executors to give him when a division of my estate shall take place.

      To James Spicer, who married my daughter Charlott Reach, I give and bequeath one feather bed and furniture at thirty dollars, one cow and calf at ten dollars, one Beaver Bonnet at ten dollars, which property I give Spicer out of the sales of my estate when collected by my executors.

      To my son Enoch Reach, I give and bequeath one Rifle gun at twenty-five dollars which I have put into his possession, and seventy-five dollars, which shall be paid to him of the proceeds of the sales of my Estate when collected by my executors and applyed for.

      To my beloved wife, Milly Reach, I give and bequeath one feather bed and furniture and womans saddle, one cow and calf, one sow and pigs, and one horse at forty dollars. This I give to her during her natural life.

      I further wish my beloved wife to live on my plantation where I now live and have all the proceeds of said land to Raise her children on. Also I wish my negroe woman (viz) Liz Sary and Edy, to live with my wife during widowhood and their labour to aid and in supporting my children til the youngest comes of age, also all the plantation tools and stock of cattle and hogs to be for their support what is thought necessary and if any can be spared to be sold and divided equally among my said wife's children.

      I desire that my negroe boys and all property that can be spared to be sold at my decease and money put (at) Interest.

      I further wish my son Henry Reach to have an equal part taking fourteen dollars which I paid for him for a saddle, my son Bailey Reach is to have an equal part after taking out the price of a bed and furniture.

      My son Jesse Reach an equal part.

      My son Crawford Reach twelve dollars and a half more than an equal divide to be applied towards schooling him.

      My son Charles Reach to have twenty-five dollars and a half more than an equal divide to be applied for his schooling.

      My son Jeremiah Reach to have twelve dollars and a half more than an equal divide for the purpose of schooling him.

      I appoint my wife Milley Reach and Theophilus Miller my lawful executors.

      In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 3rd day of November, 1832.
