    • "Rom Bumgarner Dies Suddenly
      Rom L. Bumgarner, 63, of Woodland Boulevard, Wilkesboro, died at 3:30 a.m. yesterday at his home.  He suffered a heart attack.

      A lifelong resident of Wilkesboro, he was a member of a widely known Wilkes family, being a son of Linville and Bessie McNeill Bumgarner.  He was a poultry farmer and livestock dealer.

      Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Bumgarner; three sons, James Glenn Bumgarner of Omaha, Neb., David Eugene Bumgarner of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Harold Bumgarner of Guyahoga Falls, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Diesinborfer of Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, Mayor C. G. Bumgarner of Wilkesboro and Edgar E. Bumgarner of Winston-Salem; six sisters, Mrs. R. O. Poplin of Elkin, Mrs. C. M. Hart of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. W. H. Riley of Wilkesboro, Route 2, Mrs. Bryan Gilreath of North Wilkesboro, and Miss Pearl Bumgarner and Mrs. J. V. Jennings, both of Wilkesboro; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

      Funeral service was conducted this afternoon in Warren-Miller Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Henry Morgan.  Burial was in Mountain Park Cemetery in Wilkesboro."
