      The petition of Mrs E A Harrell Guardian of C L Harrell and Douglass
      Harrell who are of age and Herbert Harrell Fred Harrell and Hodgkiss Harrell
      minors; Shows that the property she holds as Guardian is entirely insufficient
      for the maintenance and education of said minors: that the income from all
      the property of said wards does not amount to more than $150.00 per year That
      the necessary expenses of said wards amounts to $200.00 each per year. That the
      welfare of said wards and their best interest, will be promoted by selling all of said
      property and applying the proceeds judiciously to the education and maintenance
      of said minors also the two of said wards who are of age and ready for a settle-
      ment, and out of the proceeds of said sale your petitioner desires to settle with the
      Two who are of age, and for an equal division between joint owners thereof.
      That the property in the hands of your petitioner as Guardian is real
      estate as follows Vacant lot on Calhoun street house and lot on Planters st
      House and lot on Evans st and one half interest in three nigro houses
      lying South of the Colored Baptist church Wherefor your petitioner prays
      leave to sell all of said property in her hands as Guardian aforesaid and a di-

      Douglas Harrell Fred & Hodgkiss Harrell praying for leave to sell the land of said wards
      having been duly filed and it appearing that notice of the same has been published as
      required by law; that it is necessary for the purpose of an equal division among
      joint owners & for maintenance & support of minors, that said land be sold and
      no objection being filed thereto it is ordered by the court that the said Mrs A E
      Harrell Guardian be and she is hereby granted leave to sell for the purpose aforesaid
      the following described land, lying and being in the City of Bainbridge said

      I, Charles L. Harrell of Shotwell Street, Bainbridge, Georgia being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all others, by me heretofore made.

      Item 1. I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christianlike manner suitable to my circumstances and conditions in life and beside my wife in the Oak City Cemetery.

      Item 2. I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without unnecessary delay, by my executrix hereinafter named and appointed.

      Item 3. I give, bequeath and devise to my grandson, C.A. Curnane Jr., the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) in cash and my executrix is authorized to turn over this amount to his mother, ann Harrell Curnane, taking her receipt for same.

      Item 4. T give, bequeth and devise to my grandson, John Charles Edwards, my automobile in fee simple.

      Item 5. I give, bequeath and devise all of the remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed and wherever located, to my daughter, Jane Harrell Edwards for the support and maintenance of herself and my grandson, John Charles Edwards.

      Item 6. I name and appoint my daughter, Jane Harrell Edwards, as a testamentary guardian for my grandson, John Charles Edwards, and relieve her of giving bond or making any returns to the Court of Ordinary.

      Item 7. I name and appoint my daughter Jane Harrell Edwards, as executrix of this will and I hereby relieve her of making any inventory or appraisement of my estate of from giving any bond or making any returns to any court, and all that is required of her under this will is to probate the same, and then enter upon and take charge of all my property and administer same as provided in this will.

      To the Hon. J. R. Deese, Ordinary of Said County:

      The petition of Jane Harrell Edwards a resident of said County and nominated Executrix of the last will of Charles L. Harrell also a resident of said County who died on the 19th day of January 1953 owning valuable real and personal estate disposed of by said will amounting to the sum of Twenty Five Hundred Dollars and which remains to be administered respectfully showeth that said Charles L. Harrell died testate, that his will is herewith presented for probate at the regular term of the Court of Ordinary of said County in common form; that you petitioner is named in said will as its executrix; Wherefore, your petitioner prays leave to prove said will in common form and the issuing to her of letters testamentary upon her taking oath of office.

Harrell in their presence as his last will; that he was at the time of said attestation and signing by him of sound and disposing mind and memory; that he executed the within paper voluntarily.

    • "Mr. Charles Harrell Dies Here Monday
      Mr. Charles L. Harrell, 71, died here Monday, January 19th, following a prolonged illness. A native of Bainbridge, Mr. Harrell had spent most of his life here and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a retired salesman.
      He is survived by one son, C. L. Harrell, Jr. of Zuma, Arizona, and four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Rich Sr., Mrs. C. A. Curnane and Mrs. Jane Edwards, all of Bainbridge, and Mrs. S. G. Jenkins of Tarboro, North Carolina.
      Also surviving are two brothers, Herbert M. Harrell of Bainbridge and Hodgkiss Harrell of Jacksonville. Another brother, Douglas Harrell of Miami, Florida, died last Friday and was buried in Miami Sunday. Other survivors include eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
      Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 P. M. from the First Baptist Church with the Rev. W. D. Stewart officiating. Interment followed in Oak City Cemetery.
      Active pallbearers were L. F. Reynolds, George Tyson, W. W. Plowden, Norwood Belcher, Gordon Jester, Tmmett Horn, Laney Williams, and J. E. G. Jester. Honorary pallbearers were all the members of the Baraca Class, J. B. Ehrlich, W. A. Pittman, Frank Battles, Jr., R. E. Rowan, Roland Bower, Bryon Bower, W. H. Tharpe, Dr. L. W. Willis, Dr. J. P. Tucker, John R. Wilson, H. L. Metcalf, Frank Battle, Sr., Clarke Gurley, L. R. Livingston, L. L. Ward, Clinton Ward, H. L. Ledbetter and T. L. Smith. E. W. Cox & Sons in charge of arrangements."
