Chas L J Douglass Herbert, Fred and Hodgkiss Harrell
minor children of C L Harrell deceased respectfully
shows First that he is so situated in business and
other ways that he cannot give the estate of his wards
the attention that it needs Secondly: That being So
situated the estate of his said wards will Suffer for
the proper attention and care, unless some competent
person is placed in charge there of, Thirdly Your peti
tioner therefore desires to resign the said trust of Guardi
an for the afore mentioned children, minors of the Said
C L Harrell deceased Fourthly: Your petitioner brings
E A Harrell and suggests that she be appointed in
his stead as Guardian for the aforementioned wards
and thereupon have settlement with Your petitioner
Fifthly Therefore your petitioner prays that said E A Harrell
be cited and also the nearest of kin to show cause
if any they have why your petitioner should not be
discharged from his said trust of Guardian as aforesaid

can why the said S J Chesnut should not be allowed
to resign his Guardian ship for said minor children

offered why said S J Chesnut Should not be discharged
from his Guardianship It is ordered by the court that
he be and is hereby discharged and that letters
of dismission be issued to him

The petition of Mrs E A Harrell Guardian of C L Harrell and Douglass
Harrell who are of age and Herbert Harrell Fred Harrell and Hodgkiss Harrell
minors; Shows that the property she holds as Guardian is entirely insufficient
for the maintenance and education of said minors: that the income from all
the property of said wards does not amount to more than $150.00 per year That
the necessary expenses of said wards amounts to $200.00 each per year. That the
welfare of said wards and their best interest, will be promoted by selling all of said
property and applying the proceeds judiciously to the education and maintenance
of said minors also the two of said wards who are of age and ready for a settle-
ment, and out of the proceeds of said sale your petitioner desires to settle with the
Two who are of age, and for an equal division between joint owners thereof.
That the property in the hands of your petitioner as Guardian is real
estate as follows Vacant lot on Calhoun street house and lot on Planters st
House and lot on Evans st and one half interest in three nigro houses
lying South of the Colored Baptist church Wherefor your petitioner prays
leave to sell all of said property in her hands as Guardian aforesaid and a di-

The written Petition of Mrs E A Harrell as Guardian of C L Harrell Herbert Harrell
Douglas Harrell Fred & Hodgkiss Harrell praying for leave to sell the land of said wards
having been duly filed and it appearing that notice of the same has been published as
required by law; that it is necessary for the purpose of an equal division among
joint owners & for maintenance & support of minors, that said land be sold and
no objection being filed thereto it is ordered by the court that the said Mrs A E
Harrell Guardian be and she is hereby granted leave to sell for the purpose aforesaid
the following described land, lying and being in the City of Bainbridge said
state and County. One vacant lot on Calhoun st bounded East by property of
Mrs E C Helton South by Mrs E A Harrell Guardian West by Fred Smith Also house
& lot bounded North by Mrs E A Harrell Guardian East by Mrs D M Mitchell South by
Planters st and West by L Nussbaum, Also house & lot on Evans st bounded
North by Evans st East by property of Lamon[?] south by Donalson and West by Hattie
Martin. Also three tenant houses on Webster st bounded North by Colored
Bpatist church East by V Berry and south by G R Hutton and West by Webster st.
And that the net sales of said property be equally divided among the joint own-
ers thereof And that the said Guardian pay out for said minors named Such
amounts as necessity demands and make a full report as the law requires
